Premier League Betting Value (January 3rd) (updated)

SPURS v WEST BROM

Stats Analysis

Spurs finished the year as the highest placed London side in the Premier League for the first time since 1995. The ratings suggest there isn't much value about their price to win this game at (1.45) and they have only won 6 from the last 10 home matches against similar rated sides. If you do fancy Spurs to win it makes sense to back them to win by 1 or 2 goals, this has been in the margin in 6 of their last 7 home wins against similar rated sides. Spurs to win by 1 or 2 goals (2.02). Spurs have had W/Ws in 5 of the last 7 home matches (14 of the last 23 against similar rated teams). Spurs HT/FT (2.06)

West Brom have already won four matches away from home this season, which is as many as they managed in the whole of last season. They are priced about right at (9.0) to win this game. If you do fancy West Brom its certainly wise to back on the Asian handicap and given the stats above +1.5 goals at (1.90) makes for a solid bet. The draw is available at (4.5) and this does offer some value.

Spurs have had Over 2.5 goals 10 of the last 15 home matches and in rated form Over 2.5 goals 5 of the last 10 matches. West Brom Over 2.5 goals in 12 of the last 15 away matches, Over 2.5 goals 4 of the last 5 matches against similar rated sides. Over 2.5 goals (1.73) which seems to represent good value.

Both teams scored in 10 of the last 15 Spurs home matches and in rated form both teams scored in 5 of the last 10 matches. West Brom Both teams scored in 12 of the last 15 away matches and in 4 of the last 5 away matches at similar rated sides.

MANCHESTER CITY v LIVERPOOL

Stats Analysis

The ratings are suggesting there is some good value in backing Manchester City to win this game at (1.93). Man City have won 10 out of 10 home matches and they have won by two or more goals in 9 of their 10 home matches. The price can be improved further by dutching Manchester City to win by 1 or 2 goals, this has been the margin in all their last 7 wins against similar opposition and also in Liverpool's last 5 losses. Manchester City to win by one or 2 goals (2.20).

Liverpool are priced at (5.00) and this offers not much value. If you do fancy Liverpool to do well then they can be backed on the Asian Handicap +0.5 goals at (2.00) which keeps the draw on side,  the draw can be backed at (3.60) which whilst not much value is worth consideration.

As for goals there are some very mixed stats here and we would avoid the Under / Over 2.5 goal market as they are correctly priced. Manchester City being the only team to score is an option they have kept a clean sheet in 4 of their last 6 home games to similar rated sides. It should be remembered that Liverpool have found the net in all 5 of their last 5 away games to top rated sides. No on both to score (2.10) looks good value though having featured in only 6 from 15 home games and 5 from 15 away games.

2nd half has been the highest scoring in all 6 of Liverpool's last 6 away games to top rated sides it has also been the highest scoring in all 3 of Manchester City's last 3 home games to similar rated sides this season. The 2nd half to be the highest scoring (2.10)

WIGAN v SUNDERLAND

Stats Analysis

The ratings suggest there is some good value in Wigan's price at (2.70), however Sunderland are in good form since Martin O'Neill's arrival and have won three of their five matches since he took charge. Sunderland are not much value though priced at (2.90).

Sunderland have drawn the first half in 12 of the last 15 away matches against low rated teams and its nearly as strong for Wigan with 11 from 15 rated games. HT draw (2.10). There isn't much value in the Full time draw at (3.35) although it is an option in what will be a tight game.

There have been -2.5 goals in 12 of the last 17 Wigan home matches against similar rated teams, but there are some mixed stats and not much value, we would avoid the Under / Over 2.5 goal market as they are correctly priced, Under 2.5 (1.80). Both Teams to score is a good option in a game with little stand out value, its has featured in 8 from the last 10 Wigan home games against similar opposition and 6 from 10 rated Sunderland away games. Both Team to Score (1.9)
